Reimbursement Information
NAPM is first and foremost an
educational organization. In the structure of NAPM, the
Professional Development Committee is responsible for
coordinating the educational opportunities for the membership. In
addition to the various seminars, the material available in our
library, and the student programs for UH-Downtown, NAPM
Houstons Pro-D Committee also administers the Tuition
Reimbursement Program for NAPM-Houston members in good standing
attending any accredited college or university. The following is
a description of the program.

Eligibility
- Any member in good standing
of NAPM-Houston who is currently attending a college and
or a university, and is working toward a professional
degree.
- There must be out of pocket
costs incurred that are not being reimbursed by an
employer or any other means. This scholarship is intended
to reimburse members for out of pocket expenses only.
Criteria for Selection
- A written essay on why the
member should be considered for the program - including a
brief biography, job history, goals, and a short
explanation of how your education will help you
accomplish your goals.
- Completion of an application
Application deadline for members will be the
second Tuesday of January at the NAPM-Houston dinner
meeting. Emphasis will be placed on the level of activity
and contributions to NAPM-Houston. Community involvement
will also be a plus in reviewing the perspective
candidates for awards.
- Along with the application
the member will be required to show proof of enrollment
in a course, along with a description of the course or
courses..
- Awards will be paid at the
end of the semester upon proof of satisfactory completion
of the course work.
- Satisfactory academic
performance will be expected of any applicant. No award
will be received for any grade less than a C.
Requirements for Awards Payment
The number of awards granted will
be determined by the amount budgeted annually. This amount will
vary in any given year depending on funding. There will be no
stated minimum or maximum amount awarded to any recipient.
Amounts per award, and number of awards, will be dependent upon
the budget and the number of applicants. In order to collect an
award a recipient will need to demonstrate the following:
- Acceptable grades
nothing less than a grade of C will be acceptable. In
addition to a C or better a GPA of 3.0 or higher must be
maintained.
- Proof of grades must be
provided to the Pro-D Committee no more than 2 weeks
after the posting of grades for the current semester.
- Scholarships will be for 2
semesters only. Fall and Spring semesters will be the
eligible semesters. Summer sessions will be considered on
a case-by-case basis if funding is available
- Any recipients wishing to be
considered for a subsequent year will need to submit a
new application only. An essay will not be necessary for
former recipients.
