Value Stream
Mapping (VSM)
Value Stream Mapping (VSM), a
visual tool which has been successfully deployed
across many industries, enables all the activities across a
specific value stream to
be clearly identified and quantified. Value Stream Maps have
been especially
successful when applied to value streams crossing organizational
boundaries,
quantifying process integration improvement opportunities across
suppliers /
customers. Value Stream Mapping is the basis on which
performance improvements
can be identified, prioritized and designed to deliver the
greatest benefit.
The value of VSM in the manufacturing environment and how it has
been utilized in the
exploration and production industry will be addressed.
